On moving

So here I am at last. I've moved!
Also... I dropped by my new mcdonalds on the way here, and they told me I can have a shift tomorrow. So I'm working at 8 tomorrow morning. Then I was thinking what time I'd have to get up at, and realized that I only have to get up at 7 instead of 6 or something, to make that time!
And in a week, Jessica and I are heading out to our cousin Paula's wedding to her best friend, Joel. Should be pretty exciting. We've never been in that part of the U.S. before. We get to go on a day-long cruise to the Bahamas as well. We'll see how that all works out. I haven't seen my cousin for quite a while, 'cause last time I went to Holland, she had already moved to Florida.
Other than that, I can't think of too much else exciting going on...
So for now, I'll just post this. I think it's not to bad, considering my record so far...

All quiet on the Western Front

Comrade, I did not want to kill you. If you jumped in here again, I would not do it, if you would be sensible too. But you were only an idea to me before, an abstraction that lived in my mind and called forth its appropriate response. It was that abstraction I stabbed. But now, for the first time, I see that you are a man like me. I thought of your hand grenades, your bayonet, of your rifle; now I see your wife and your face and our fellowship. Rorgive me, comrade. We always see it too late. Why do they never tell us that you are poor devils like us, that your mothers are just as anxious as ours, and that we have the same fear of death, and the same dying and the same agony? Forgive me, comrade; how could you be my enemy? If we threw away these rifles and this uniform you could be my brother just like Kat and Albert...
...Comrade,...today you, tomorrow me. But if I come out of it comrade, I will fight against this, that has struck us both down; from you, taken life and from me? Life also.

~Erich Maria Remarque, All Quiet on the Western Front.
Sometime, I plan to read this book, I think it's probably worth-while... I found the reference in one of my old school books, which I found while going through stuff on my desk in preparation for moving. Of course I had to find the book back and page through it...
Kind of thought-provoking, anyways.

i've let this blog have too much down time.
perhaps i should actually have a go at making it existant...

recently, i have been learning some stuff about cars. they are actually pretty cool, and knowing how they work is definately no longer just a 'guy thing'!

i'm planning on moving to St. Albert in the near future, living with my sister, her husband, and two amazing nephews. should be fun.

i've been gleaning small dog jobs here and there (the dogs were small, not necessarily the jobs), and i'm excited to open that back up next year, hopefully. oh. i was cutting their fur... not stealing them or something.

i love the weather right now, amazingly sunny and bright. the sky is soooo blue and the leaves are super brilliant and glisten yellowly in the sun. the one's remaining on the trees, that is...

so... this'll have to be it for now...
